Monstrings

Monstrings are string based toys shaped into monsters.

This project was developed from observing children playing with strings and balloons. We noticed that they constantly tried to pull the strings from both

sides and tie the objects to each other by the strings.

The heart of these toys is the colourful strings. The monsters were designed

to be the base for the strings.

This was a group project with another Industrial design. we worked together on the concept, designing the toys' morphology, 3d modelling in Solidworks ,producing the final physical products and creating the colour combinations. I was also responsible for the sketching and photography of the project.

We started designing and characterising each monster followed by sketches and mockups. The string colours were adapted to each character to strengthen its characterization and differentiation from the rest of the monsters.
