Porcelain pop rings
Ceramic , 2020
These rings were created as part of an advanced ceramics course that took place during COVID-19 and it's lockdowns. initially developing ceramics objects using the computer while not knowing if and when they would produced into a real-life product.
The main brief I chose to focus on was food play.
I designed porcelain rings with various textures and surfaces, dipped in candy.
designing a playful eating experience through the encounter of the candy with the lips as well as the texture of the ring which is exposed as the candy is enjoyed.
In addition, the ring produces a visual effect between the whiteness of the porcelain and the color of the sugar as it wraps around and fills the bumps and grooves of the ceramic material.
